YouTube launched new AI features at its 'Made on YouTube' event
YouTube is leveraging the power of AI to unlock new creative possibilities for creators using its platform and to make it easier for them to engage with their audiences. First, YouTube has officially confirmed that Veo, Google's most capable video-generation model, is coming to YouTube Shorts. The model will upgrade Dream Screen, a feature introduced just last year that enables users to create AI-generated image and video backgrounds for YouTube Shorts.
Moreover, users can also create standalone video clips of up to 6 seconds in length, in line with the content they have already captured. Creations leveraging Veo's capabilities will be watermarked using SynthID by default and clearly labeled to convey that the content is AI-generated.
In YouTube Studio, the Inspiration Tab now features an AI-powered brainstorming companion that can support video creation by doing practically everything, from suggesting video ideas, generating custom video thumbnails and titles, to creating and refining personalized outlines. Finally, YouTube announced several new features to improve community building and provide new monetization options. Notable among these is the availability of AI-enhanced reply suggestions, customizable to each creator's style. The feature is meant to streamline the process of replying to large amounts of comments.
