HelloBetter secured €3M in research funding for its new AI-powered mental health wellness solution
Germany-based HelloBetter, a leading digital mental health care provider and research entity, has secured €3 million in non-dilutive funding to advance the development of its innovative AI-driven mental health solution MindFIT. The project, which recently emerged from stealth with a total budget of €4.6 million, is funded by the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy of Brandenburg's ProFIT program through the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg.
Traditional digital therapeutics target specific conditions through a linear, set, and condensed therapeutic program delivered to any individual experiencing the targeted condition. Because of this, these approaches to digital therapeutics tend to be rigid and non-personalizable, increasing the risk of patients dropping out before reaping the program's benefits.
To address the shortcomings of these traditional digital therapeutics, MindFIT takes a revolutionary approach by offering a modular, transdiagnostic platform designed to support overall mental wellness. The solution aims to help users before they reach clinically significant symptom levels, addressing multiple challenges such as anxiety, stress, and sleep issues. In parallel, MindFIT leverages machine learning and large language models to create personalized experiences, adapting content and interventions based on individual user needs and contexts. This AI-driven personalization translates into personalized feedback and small just-in-time interventions for improved user engagement and better outcomes.
MindFIT represents a crucial component of HelloBetter's broader vision for a digital stepped-care model. The company, which has been exploring AI applications in mental health since 2019, aims to create a seamless patient journey that bridges prevention and treatment, combining self-led digital solutions with AI-supported therapy.
