Octomind secured $4.8 million to accelerate bug-free AI-assisted software testing

After experiencing the frustrations of manual QA testing first-hand, Octomind founders Marc Mengler and Daniel Rödler started working together in 2023 with a goal in mind: to develop a satisfactory solution that enabled them to automate, and thus eliminate, large parts of the end-to-end testing process. Their mission became especially pressing with the advent of AI-powered coding tools. As the Octomind team has come to realize, there is no doubt that these tools are a blessing, boosting productivity and accelerating the coding process. However, ensuring that all outputs conform to a high-quality standard is an independent issue that must be tackled with a different set of AI-powered tools.

News of the successful seed funding round comes six months after Octomind emerged from stealth. Led by Cherry Ventures and backed by an impressive selection of angel investors, including Sean Mullaney from Algolia, Charlie Songhurst, and Lutz Finger, the funding will help the company inch closer to its goal of creating a seamless, bug-free automated software testing user experience. Concretely, the funds will enable Octomind to enhance and expand its AI's navigation capabilities, so it continues to identify and test critical user flows with accuracy. Moreover, the investment will empower Octomind to continue working closely with its community to refine and develop its solution. The company took the seed funding announcement as an opportunity to recognize the value that its community has brought to the table during this journey.
