Smartcat raised a $43M Series C to expand its AI-powered translation services platform

Smartcat, a company offering automated translation and content generation services for over 100 use cases to enterprises, has secured $43 million in a Series C funding round led by Left Lane Capital. The raised funds will help Smartcat keep up with the demand for its AI-based translation and multilingual content generation solutions, which are currently used by over 1,000 customers, including over 20% of the Fortune 500 companies.

One of Smartcat's most recent AI-powered solutions is a tool that supports the creation of multilingual learning content. Mark Stauffer, Senior Learning & Development Manager for Brink's, remarked on the success the company has seen after adopting Smartcat for the creation of the company's learning material. Stauffer lauded the company's high-quality AI translations, collaborative workflows, network of human linguists, and ease of use as key features that drove Brink's to settle on Smartcat as their learning material creation solution.

Notably, although Smartcat's main selling point is the use of AI to translate over 280 languages, generate content from existing materials, and provide solutions powered by algorithms that learn from clients' previous translations to cut costs and drastically reduce turnaround times, the company has also ensured that its platform easily accommodates AI-human workflows. The Smartcat collaborative platform includes unlimited seats at no extra costs, so enterprises can have full teams translating, editing, and collaborating on content created using its services. The company has also integrated a +500,000 linguist network from which experts can be sourced to review materials generated and translated in the platform.
