SoundHound AI has acquired Amelia AI to expand its customer service offerings
SoundHound AI, a leading company in conversational AI-powered experiences, including those in cars and smart devices, as well as in customer service solutions including Smart Answering, Smart Ordering, and Dynamic Drive Thru, recently announced it acquired Amelia AI, another leading conversational AI company developing enterprise AI agents for internal or customer service use. SoundHound will pay $80 million in cash and equity, assuming both Amelia's debt and earning potential.
The combined company will feature both parties' accumulated experience and highly compatible AI-driven products to offer unparalleled service to a customer roster including multinational enterprise brands, top 15 global banks, and Fortune 500 organizations totaling nearly 200 customers of note. In particular, SoundHound will have the opportunity to strengthen and expand its existing customer service pillar, earning the company a more significant stake in a growing market, as the adoption of voice and conversational generative AI solutions keeps accelerating.
The combined revenue for 2025 is estimated at over $150 million with Amelia contributing over $45M in recurring AI software revenue combined with other non-software streams, such as professional services and agent-related fees. At the time of the deal's closing, the combined company holds approximately $160M of cash and $39M of debt.
