Belgian medtech startup Nuclivision has raised €5 million in seed funding to accelerate the commercial rollout of its AI-powered PET image enhancement software. The investment round was co-led by LUMO Labs and Heran Partners, with participation from imec.istart future fund.
Nuclivision's platform, Nuclarity, uses artificial intelligence to enable faster, safer, and more affordable PET scans—a critical imaging technique for detecting cancer and Alzheimer's. The technology allows medical professionals to perform scans with less radiation and in shorter time frames without compromising image quality.
"Medical imaging is at an inflection point," says Nuclivision CEO Maarten Larmuseau. "With rapid growth in radiopharma and theranostics, AI and smart software are becoming necessary to handle increased demand for PET and SPECT scans."
Nuclivision's technology is currently in the final phase of regulatory approval, and the startup plans to enter the European market immediately after approval, followed by expansion into the US market later this year.
