Microsoft has launched an official Copilot Telegram bot

Microsoft's AI assistant, powered by GPT models and Bing Search, is now available as a Telegram bot at @CopilotOfficialBot. The launch announcement suggests that Microsoft is aiming at providing the Telegram bot users with a casual experience where they can ask Copilot for recommendations or brainstorm ideas on several subjects, including topics as diverse as gaming, romance, cooking, music, puzzles, and even fitness advice. Users can access the bot, currently in beta and free for all users, in any Telegram-supported device, and on the web at the Telegram web client.

What's most notable about this release is that Microsoft is expanding the Copilot experience to third-party applications. Not too long ago, Meta announced its plans to integrate Meta AI into its Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger apps, in addition to launching a web experience. Similarly, in addition to its other Gemini integration initiatives, Google plans to add a Gemini overlay on top of its Android apps so the assistant can help users with tasks related to information retrieval or dynamic suggestions based on the context of the app they are using and the screen they are seeing. If anything, the Copilot on Telegram release is most reminiscent of Stability AI's Discord bot, Stable Artisan.
