Anthropic has released Claude for Financial Advisors, a set of connectors and workflow skills that ties Claude into advisory firms’ existing systems for research, meeting preparation and documentation. According to the company, the product can pull information from custodians, portfolio platforms, customer relationship management software, financial-planning tools, estate systems and meeting records.

The workflows can assemble client briefs, draft follow-up communications and stage CRM updates without removing the advisor from regulated decisions. Anthropic says investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations and other regulated activities remain subject to human review and approval.

The plugin comes with eight workflow skills: advisor onboarding, an alternative-investments brief, compliance and AI-policy review, an estate and tax brief, portfolio-rebalance review, post-meeting notes and follow-up, pre-meeting preparation, and prospect intake. Firms can use the skills as provided or adapt them to their workflows and house style.

For meeting preparation, Claude can combine holdings, recent account activity and unresolved items from connected systems into a brief for an advisor to review. Afterward, the post-meeting workflow can turn a transcript into a client summary, recap email and CRM tasks. Anthropic says administrative actions and draft client communications are staged for approval rather than executed autonomously.

A similar approval boundary appears in another sector-specific Anthropic project, where Claude tests for drug discovery. That report offers context on Anthropic’s industry workflow strategy, not evidence of how the financial-advisor product performs.

The compliance skill screens client-facing language against the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Marketing Rule, flags material that may need more review and helps firms document review activity within existing governance and recordkeeping processes. Anthropic also describes a self-guided workflow for documenting a firm’s AI policy. These are company-claimed product capabilities, not independent findings that the system ensures compliance.

On Anthropic’s recorded-event page, Anthropic lists advisor approval on every action, audit trails and no training on clients’ data as controls for regulated firms. The available evidence does not independently audit those controls or establish adoption, time savings, compliance effectiveness or client outcomes.

The bundled plugin works with BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks. Advisors choose which services to connect during guided setup.

Anthropic said the advisor plugin was available at launch on September 14. It recommends Claude Enterprise for registered investment advisers because that plan includes audit logs intended to support recordkeeping.
