Anthropic reportedly in talks to buy video-model startup Decart for $6 billion

Anthropic is reportedly in talks to acquire Decart, an Israeli AI lab that builds real-time video and world models, for about $6 billion — what would be the Claude maker’s largest acquisition to date.

The talks are unconfirmed, and neither company has commented publicly. At the reported price, the deal would land as Anthropic prepares for a widely anticipated initial public offering, and would push the lab into generative video and the ‘world models’ that simulate interactive environments in real time.

Decart is not short of suitors. SpaceX, Amazon and Nebius have also been linked to the sale process, with the reported range running from $6 billion to $7 billion, according to people familiar with the discussions. Decart had been negotiating with Nvidia before another bidder entered the picture.

The startup’s price has moved fast. Decart raised $300 million in May 2026 at a valuation of roughly $4 billion, taking total funding above $450 million. A $6 billion sale barely three months later would mark a sharp step-up.

None of this is confirmed. No party has acknowledged the discussions on the record, terms are not final, and deals this size collapse regularly. The reported figures come from people briefed on the process, not from either company.

The interest still fits a pattern. Frontier labs are paying up for the talent and technology behind real-time, multimodal generation, and world models have become one of the field’s most contested research fronts. For Anthropic, known for its text-based Claude models, real-time video would widen its research beyond its current lineup.
