Apple introduces HomeView smart display with Siri AI
Apple’s 7-inch HomeView brings Siri AI, personalized household profiles, entertainment and smart-home controls to tabletop and wall-mounted models.
Apple introduced HomeView on October 13. The 7-inch smart-home display brings together Siri AI, personalized household profiles, entertainment and controls for connected devices.
Preorders opened that day, and availability is scheduled for November 13. Apple priced both versions at £299 in the UK: a tabletop model with a speaker base and a separate wall-mounted model. The dedicated shared-home screen expands Apple’s home hardware beyond HomePod and Apple TV.
Apple says HomeView can recognize as many as six people by face, then tailor its Home Screen, apps, widgets and private content to each user. Messages and Calendar information appears only after the device recognizes an enrolled user and detects that their paired iPhone or iPad is present and was recently unlocked, subject to Apple’s documented cellular fallback when Wi-Fi disconnects.
Siri AI is the device’s main assistant. Apple describes it as more conversational than the existing Siri, with broad world knowledge, onscreen awareness, music discovery and the ability to continue conversations through the Siri app on other Apple devices. Personal-context features require a paired iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence. People without one can still access conversational answers, world knowledge and music discovery.
The assistant will ship in beta with HomeView software 27.2 and initially support English in eight markets, Apple said. Some features that rely on server-based models will have daily usage limits, with expanded paid access planned.
HomeView can control compatible cameras, thermostats, lights, locks and blinds by touch or voice. Its Home Camera face can display up to nine live camera feeds at once. The device also supports Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories.
For entertainment and communication, HomeView includes Apple Music, Podcasts, News and TV, as well as compatible third-party media apps. FaceTime with Center Stage, Messages, Intercom and Find My are also included, alongside support for Live Activities, recipes, timers and Handoff.
Apple says the A18 chip uses Secure Exclaves to isolate camera and microphone processing. It also says Siri requests are handled either on the device or through Private Cloud Compute, where request data is not stored or made accessible to Apple. Apple’s broader AI privacy controls provide related context, but do not independently verify those HomeView claims.
HomeView also connects to the new Apple Home Collection. The lineup includes cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell and a door lock designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Apple plans initial accessory availability in December 2026, with some products following in early 2027.
