Foundry Robotics raises $100 million for Emeryville factory
Foundry Robotics announced a $100 million Series A led by Marlinspike Partners to expand its 130,000-square-foot assembly facility in Emeryville.
Foundry Robotics announced a $100 million Series A led by Marlinspike Partners. It said the financing will fund the buildout of its Emeryville factory, the deployment of AI models in manufacturing and hiring across robotics research, engineering and factory operations.
Foundry describes the site as a 130,000-square-foot assembly facility for defense and commercial hardware makers. The company said it targets complex electromechanical products including drones, wire harnesses, underwater vehicles, telecommunications and data-center equipment, ground robots and satellites.
Rather than selling only robotics equipment, Foundry said it operates factories for customers. Its model pairs robotic cells with manufacturing specialists, while FoundryOS links robots, factory-floor systems and cloud software. Foundry said data from each production run feeds back into its models.
It also claims a single robotic cell can learn to assemble different products and that its service can move customers from design to production in weeks without a new production line or costly retooling. The announcement provided no customer-level timing, cost, output, defect-rate or human-intervention data to substantiate those performance claims independently.
Foundry said Khosla Ventures, Red Glass Ventures, SE Ventures, Wing VC, Axiom Ventures, Hanabi and Zero Shot Fund also participated. It did not disclose its valuation, investor stakes, the round’s closing date or whether the full amount had been funded when it announced the financing.
A January SEC Form D records a separate $5.5 million equity offering by Foundry. The filing predates the newly announced Series A and does not independently confirm the $100 million round.
