Legal AI startup Harvey is reportedly in talks to raise at least $500 million at a $15.5 billion valuation. That would be a roughly 40% jump from the $11 billion it reached in a $200 million round in March 2026.

Lightspeed Venture Partners is said to be interested in leading the new round. The talks are early, and no deal has closed.

The pace of the markup tracks Harvey’s revenue. The company’s annualized revenue has risen more than 80% since January, from about $190 million to more than $350 million, and Harvey says it counts more than 1,300 organizations as customers, including a significant share of the AmLaw 100 largest US law firms.

The proposed valuation is a bet that AI aimed at a single, document-heavy profession can command frontier-model prices. Legal work — contracts, discovery, research — is text-heavy and expensive to staff, making it one of the clearer near-term markets for generative AI, and one where competitors including LexisNexis and startups like Legora are pressing in.

The revenue and customer figures come from Harvey and have not been independently verified. Neither Harvey nor Lightspeed has publicly confirmed the talks, and the terms could change before any round closes.

A close at $15.5 billion would rank Harvey among the most valuable vertical AI companies and would test whether legal buyers keep paying as the field crowds.
