LinqAlpha, a New York-based AI research platform for hedge funds and asset managers, has raised a $22 million Series A co-led by AVP, Atinum Investment and GFT Ventures, the company said July 2. The round drew financial institutions from Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and India.

The deal signals continued investor appetite for agent-driven investment research, a corner of finance where firms are pushing AI past chatbots and into the grind of reading filings and earnings calls. The Series A brings LinqAlpha’s total funding to about $28.6 million.

The platform analyzes earnings calls, regulatory filings and social media to surface market-moving insights, and deploys AI agents — software that carries out multi-step research tasks — trained on a client’s own proprietary research history. LinqAlpha said it now serves more than 70 financial institutions.

Founded in 2022 by former Goldman Sachs analysts and MIT computer science PhDs, the company has rebranded twice and relocated from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to New York.

The funding figures come from the company and have not been independently verified, and LinqAlpha did not disclose revenue, so client-count and traction claims rest on its own account. Whether the fresh capital widens its base beyond the current roster of institutions is the test the round sets up.
