Loops Smart AI announced $3.5 million in seed financing from a16z speedrun, NTT Docomo, Connecticut Innovations, Alumni Ventures and Monday Capital, the company said Monday.

Loops said it will use the capital for product development, customer deployment capacity and international expansion. The startup describes its commerce AI platform as a single system for search and product discovery, shopping assistance, customer operations, product enrichment and virtual try-on.

Loops reports more than 70 customers and pilots, millions of shopper experiences handled, and a 64% conversion rate from pilots to paying customers. Those adoption figures are company-reported and were not independently audited in the opened evidence.

The company also cited an observational comparison at Turkish retailer A101. It said sessions involving its platform showed roughly 83% higher purchase conversion than a comparison segment. Because Loops characterized the comparison as observational rather than randomized, the result does not establish that the platform alone caused the difference.

Official listings from two investors corroborate their connections to the startup: a16z speedrun lists Loops AI in cohort 006 and describes its focus as commerce and marketplace AI agents, while Connecticut Innovations includes Loops AI in its venture portfolio. Loops’ announcement lists all five investors but does not identify a lead investor. The opened sources do not disclose the company’s valuation, individual check sizes, ownership dilution or whether the round has closed.

Loops said it intends to expand into financial services and energy and is developing specialized small-language-model capabilities for some domain-specific tasks.
