Reports have emerged that Poolside.ai, a Paris-based company building generative AI-power tools to accelerate software development, looks to raise at least $400 million at a $2 billion post-money valuation. Bain Capital Ventures, a backer of Poolside's $126 million seed funding round, was reportedly in talks with Poolside to co-lead the new funding round with newcomer DST. Poolside's seed funding round took place last August and featured the participation of notable investors including Air Street, Abstraction, Scribble Ventures, New Wave, Frst, Bpifrance, Felicis, Point Nine, and Redpoint.

Once completed, this funding round would elevate Poolside to the ranks of Mistral and H, two other French startups recently making headlines after raising nine-digit figures. The total amount of the expected funding also reflects both the demand for solutions specialized in software development and the willingness of investors to take a chance on startups working to meet this demand, even in the earliest stages. Not too long ago, Augment Inc. emerged out of stealth with a $227 million Series B round.
