Standard Bots, a Glen Cove, New York robotics company, said on June 9, 2026 that it raised $200 million in Series C funding at a $1 billion valuation to expand U.S. production of its AI-native industrial robots. The round was led by RoboStrategy, with General Catalyst among the investors, the company said.

The round pushes Standard Bots into unicorn territory. The company builds robot arms and humanoids that, it says, can be trained by demonstration rather than written code — lowering the barrier for factories without robotics engineers on staff. It was co-founded by Evan Beard, its chief executive, along with David Golden and James Cordle.

Those robots are already deployed at hundreds of companies across nearly every U.S. state, including Amazon, Lockheed Martin, NASA, the U.S. Army and Sunoco, according to Standard Bots. The customer roster is the company's own and the depth of each deployment was not detailed. With the new capital, Standard Bots plans to expand its Glen Cove manufacturing facility to 70,000 square feet.

The company said it is on pace to deliver 10% of new U.S. industrial robot deployments by next year — an ambitious target it offered without a baseline figure for total annual deployments. Standard Bots framed the raise against a competitiveness gap, citing figures that China installed nine times as many industrial robots as the United States last year.

The funding rides a wave of investor enthusiasm for robotics tied to reshoring and factory automation. Whether demonstration-trained arms can scale to that 10% goal — against entrenched suppliers and Chinese volume — is the open question the capital is meant to answer.
