President Donald Trump named Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to lead a new federal artificial-intelligence task force called the Super Intelligence Force. Trump said the group will coordinate the federal government’s AI work and report directly to him and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Trump also named Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Pentagon technology chief Emil Michael and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor as leaders. The four senior administration officials were named to lead the new coordinating body.

The task force is the latest federal AI action using the “Super Intelligence” label after Trump directed federal agencies to use the term in many official materials.

Trump said the force will engage consumers, public-interest groups, religious organizations, critical-infrastructure providers and AI companies or industry leaders.

He said it would help preserve U.S. leadership in AI, protect Americans’ interests and improve their lives. Those benefits were promises in Trump’s announcement, not established outcomes.

Public details available Sunday did not specify a legal charter, membership beyond the four named leaders, a budget, staffing plan, enforcement powers, deliverables or deadlines.
