xAI launches Team Bots for shared workflows

xAI launched Team Bots, a collaboration mode that the company says allows multiple coworkers to use the same Grok Bot for a shared role or workflow. The product entered public beta on September 28 for Teams and Enterprise plans, according to xAI.

Team Bots adds a shared option to Grok Bot. An organization can configure one Bot with common context and capabilities, xAI says, then make that expertise available to multiple people while each person interacts with it individually.

xAI says a Team Bot brings together four elements: context, plugins, credentials for third-party APIs that lack a plugin, and memories. Each user’s conversations remain private, the company says, with separate context and memories for that person alongside capabilities shared across the team.

According to xAI, each Team Bot also receives a Slack handle. Teams can invite it into a channel, where participants can ask questions, add context and view its responses. The launch page offers prebuilt Team Bots for sales, product management, marketing and data analytics.

Team Bots is a workflow product, distinct from model releases such as xAI’s Grok 4.6 update. The launch page does not identify which underlying model Team Bots uses or list separate pricing and usage limits.

The administrator documentation says Grok Bot is included for Teams accounts and can be enabled for Enterprise organizations. It also says Grok Bot work runs in Cursor’s cloud on a dedicated computer for each user. The Team Bots page does not explain how that per-user architecture applies to a shared Bot.
