Zoom introduced a Unified Context Layer at its Zoomtopia customer conference on Oct. 20. The company says the system gives people and AI agents shared access to conversations, documents and activity from connected business applications.

Search and Ask APIs, portfolio-wide Model Context Protocol servers and ZoomMate Agent Teams were available when Zoom announced the layer, according to the company. The APIs let external applications and MCP-compatible agents query the shared context. Zoom has not specified the layer’s full general-availability scope, eligible plans, pricing, regional coverage or customer rollout conditions.

The layer brings together conversation history from Zoom Meetings, Phone, Chat and customer interactions with company documents and data in connected third-party systems. Zoom says it also incorporates near-real-time activity from Zoom and those applications. Configurable settings and access controls determine what users and agents can retrieve.

Zoom also marked agentic search as available, saying it can find answers across Meetings, Phone and Chat and more than 40 third-party applications. ZoomMate Agent Teams divides project work among specialized agents and combines their results for human review, according to the company.

Zoom also presented productivity figures, though they are company-reported results rather than independently validated effects of the Unified Context Layer. The company said users of its AI tools report completing tasks twice as fast, while 72% report high or extremely high business impact, compared with what Zoom called a 63% market average. Zoom attributed the figures to a survey of 500 U.S.-based knowledge workers. Its published material did not provide enough methodological detail to establish that the tools caused the reported outcomes.

Several products discussed alongside the layer are not launch-day capabilities. Zoom’s published rollout schedule places Enriched Notes and a DTEN My Notes hardware integration in November 2026. The company says direct launches of Zoom workflows from Claude and Codex are also due to begin that month.

Follow Meeting, a standalone My Notes mobile app and a refreshed Zoom Chat experience are scheduled for December 2026. Zoom placed the Bota My Notes hardware integration and a Live Meeting AI Agent, which it says will find answers and guide meetings in real time, in the first quarter of 2027.
