Anthropic puts $100 million behind plan to train 10,000 enterprise AI engineers
Anthropic has launched Claude Frontier Academy, with cohorts active in three cities and a goal of training 10,000 enterprise AI engineers by the end of 2027.
Anthropic launched Claude Frontier Academy on October 2 with a $100 million commitment and a goal of training 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027. Its first cohorts are already running in San Francisco, New York and London.
For participating companies, the launch creates a structured route for engineers to train on Claude deployments. The stated scale remains a target, however: Anthropic did not disclose current enrollment, cohort sizes or how much of the commitment has been spent.
Anthropic said engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk are represented in the first cohorts. Organizations nominate their participants.
The Academy’s first program is a residency for software engineers. It starts with a four-day intensive: three days spent building a Claude system for a simulated enterprise, then a graded practical on day four. Engineers who pass earn a Claude Resident Engineer badge and enter a 12-week residency. During that period, they lead a Claude deployment at their own organization with support from Anthropic engineers.
Earning the Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer badge requires another practical at the end of the residency. Anthropic expects to award the first final credentials in early 2027 and directs interested organizations to ask their Anthropic account or partner account teams about eligibility. The company has separately outlined Claude workflows and controls for financial advisors, illustrating the kinds of enterprise environments in which it is promoting Claude.
Anthropic said the Academy is intended to help engineers take Claude projects from an idea through security review and into production. Its claims that graduates will accelerate customer value, redesign processes or create products remain expectations shared by Anthropic and participating organizations. The available evidence includes no completed graduates or measured customer outcomes.
In March 2026, the company separately committed an initial $100 million to the Claude Partner Network for training, technical support and joint market development. Anthropic’s materials do not say whether the Academy commitment is additional to, overlaps with or draws from that earlier commitment.
