Aron launches procurement AI startup after raising $8 million

Aron emerged from stealth with $8 million in funding and an AI system designed to handle procurement work. The financing consists of a $2 million pre-seed round led by Menlo Ventures and a $6 million seed round led by Storm Ventures.

The startup said it will use the money to expand its engineering team and product. The announcement did not disclose its valuation, the securities used in either round, the closing dates or a full list of participants.

Aron calls its product an AI “chief of staff” for procurement teams. The company says a proprietary knowledge graph combines spend, contract and project data with information from invoices, negotiations and suppliers. Aron says that context allows its software agents to work across procurement records instead of treating each document or task separately.

According to Aron, the agents can run requests for quotation over email, redline contracts, compare invoices with contract prices and track open supplier orders. The company says users can interact with the system through email, Microsoft Teams, Slack and phone. The cited materials do not independently test those capabilities or provide technical architecture or security documentation for the system.

Aron named TransPak as a customer. In the company’s announcement, TransPak Vice President of Global Supply Chain Scott Eisenberg said an initial deployment for maintenance, repair and operations purchases delivered a return on investment in its first month. The packaging company then expanded the system to other purchasing categories. Aron did not provide underlying data, a measurement method or independently verified results for the testimonial.

The company also says its customers range from mid-market businesses to the Fortune 10. It did not identify any beyond TransPak or provide evidence for that range.
