DoorDash opens waitlist for corporate AI ordering connector

DoorDash opened a waitlist on September 30 for a corporate connector that lets compatible workplace AI tools arrange food orders for employees. Now in limited beta, the connector allows authorized agents to find items, build a cart, place an order and track its arrival.

Companies can add those ordering actions to AI assistants they build or deploy internally. Access begins at the company level, DoorDash said. Each employee must then sign in to an individual DoorDash account and accept terms before connecting an agent that can act on the employee’s behalf.

The connector uses Model Context Protocol, or MCP, an open standard that connects AI applications to external tools and services. The launch adds a transaction-focused workplace example to the broader field of public MCP tools.

DoorDash named SpaceXAI, Vercel, Cognition, Tempo and Mercor as early beta partners using the connector for employee ordering. The company pointed to a Slack bot that gathers a team’s lunch selections and an office-inventory replenishment workflow as examples customers could build, not separate DoorDash products.

DoorDash also said it is expanding beta access to a command-line interface for individual developers building agents for personal use. Companies and individual developers can request access through the connector portal in DoorDash’s announcement.
