Alliance Arts canceled the planned public demo for Drunken Goddess Reflux and will replace it with closed play sessions for a limited number of participants. The demo had been scheduled for October 19.

The company gave two reasons for the change. It said a public release would not let the team properly manage planned restrictions on posting and streaming gameplay. It also said releasing the demo could allow the game’s presentation and gameplay to be imitated rapidly with AI or other tools before launch. The announcement framed that cloning scenario as a risk; it did not identify an existing copy of the game.

The replacement sessions will be limited to applicants who review and accept the participation requirements, including rules for gameplay posts and streams. Alliance Arts said applications and further session details would be handled through the game’s official Discord server.

Steam lists Alliance Arts and WHO YOU as the game’s developers, with Alliance Arts also serving as publisher. Closed-session participants will be selected by lottery, the company said, and their feedback will be collected on Discord.
