Gearset launches Cam for governed Salesforce development

Gearset has launched Cam, an AI agent designed to plan and build Salesforce changes inside the delivery controls teams already run. Rather than routing around testing, sign-off and release processes, the company says, Cam submits validated work for human review.

The unit of work is a pull request. Gearset says the agent takes an assigned change request, can ask clarifying questions, draws context from a code repository and a Salesforce organization, builds the requested change, responds to validation errors and hands the result to a person for review. That work runs inside Gearset’s DevOps workflow, which the company says keeps it inspectable and auditable.

Gearset says Cam produced as much as 44% of participating teams’ pull requests during customer pilots. At one unnamed customer, the company said, the agent reached that share within a week and 75% of its pull requests were merged. Gearset did not disclose the pilot sample size, workload mix, baseline or measurement method, which leaves the figures as vendor-reported results rather than independently verified benchmarks.

Gearset identified employees of Hudl as pilot users. In testimonials the company published, Hudl staff said Cam preserved permissions and governance, and that it diagnosed and corrected a validation failure. No independently sourced Hudl assessment or quantitative result appeared in the available evidence.

On its Cam product page, Gearset states that Salesforce data and metadata are encrypted in transit and at rest, that the service runs in AWS data centers, and that the company holds ISO 27001 certification and operates continuous intrusion detection. Those are the vendor’s own representations. The available sources contain no independent, Cam-specific security assessment, and none of them detail the agent’s permission boundaries across source control, Salesforce organizations and production environments.

Cam sits in the development workflow around Salesforce, a different layer from Salesforce’s Agentforce consumption model. Gearset’s announcement and product page do not specify Cam’s general-availability status, pricing, supported ticketing systems, underlying model provider, customer-data training policy or retention terms. The company says it plans to demonstrate Cam at Dreamforce 2026, scheduled for September 15–17.
