Hyphenate raises $45 million for autonomous finance agents
Hyphenate raised a $45 million Series A led by Nexus Venture Partners to expand its finance-agent platform and build out product development and sales.
Hyphenate has raised a $45 million Series A led by Nexus Venture Partners, giving the company capital to expand its AI-agent platform for corporate finance teams. It plans to use the financing for broader product development and a dedicated sales operation.
B Capital joined the round, along with existing investors Foundation Capital, BoldCap and Gaia Ventures. The financing brought Hyphenate’s reported total funding to $54 million.
According to the company, Hyphenate’s autonomous-finance platform handles workflows across order-to-cash, treasury, general-ledger accounting and close, procure-to-pay, and reporting. Hyphenate says the platform operates on top of customers’ existing systems.
Hyphenate says its agents complete finance tasks rather than only present recommendations. When work requires judgment, the company says, the system escalates it to people and records the actions in an audit trail.
The business adopted the Hyphenate name after operating as Maximor. At the time of the rebrand, Hyphenate said revenue had increased 86-fold over the previous 12 months. It also said the average customer used six modules and that 40% of customers expanded within their first contract year. Those figures have not been independently audited in the available sources.
Hyphenate also says customers have reduced repetitive finance work by as much as 90% and cut exceptions by 75%. Those outcomes have not been independently validated. The available sources do not disclose whether the financing consists entirely of equity or whether it has legally closed.
