Microsoft opens voluntary exit program across four countries
Microsoft’s time-limited voluntary exit offer covers eligible employees in participating teams across four countries, but the company did not disclose expected take-up or a headcount-reduction target.
Microsoft opened a time-limited voluntary exit offer for eligible employees at level 70 and below in participating teams in Canada, India, the United Kingdom and the United States. The program was announced in an employee communication from Chief People Officer Amy Coleman.
Microsoft said eligible employees who accept the offer will receive financial support and career-planning resources. The public announcement did not specify severance formulas, payment amounts or the duration of any benefits.
Not every Microsoft organization is participating. The company said participation depends on business priorities, customer commitments and workforce needs, and Coleman said there was no single approach for every team or employee.
Microsoft did not say how many employees it expects to accept the offer and set no target for reducing headcount. It said eligible employees would receive an email linking to their individual offer details within hours of the announcement, but it did not publish a complete list of participating organizations.
