Norm Ai raises $120M Series C at $1.2B valuation for AI legal services
Norm Ai raised $120 million in a Series C led by Khosla Ventures, valuing the AI-native legal technology company at $1.2 billion.
Norm Ai, an AI-native legal technology company, raised $120 million in a Series C round led by Khosla Ventures, valuing the nearly three-year-old startup at $1.2 billion, the company said on July 7, 2026.
The round drew Blackstone, Bain Capital Ventures, Craft Ventures, Coatue, Vanguard, New York Life and TIAA, along with individual backers including Tony James and Jeff Hammes and the law firm Fenwick. It brings Norm Ai’s total funding to more than $260 million.
Norm Ai is the parent of Norm Law, an AI-native law firm that runs AI agents supervised by human attorneys and charges clients on an outcomes basis rather than by the hour — a direct challenge to the billable-hour model that underpins the legal industry. The company says Norm Law serves institutional clients managing more than $30 trillion in assets.
“As AI capabilities race forward, one of the greatest opportunities is to build the interface between AI and the most legitimate encapsulation of human values: law,” founder and CEO John Nay said.
The valuation and client figures are the company’s own and were not independently verified. Outcomes-based legal billing remains unusual, and Norm Ai has not disclosed revenue, client counts or how its agents perform against human lawyers on contested work. The near-term test is whether large institutions move regulated legal work onto AI agents at the scale the raise implies.
