Anthropic and Blackstone launch Ode, a $1.5B enterprise AI implementation firm

Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman on July 15 publicly launched “Ode with Anthropic,” a $1.5 billion enterprise AI services venture the three companies first announced in May. The launch gives the venture an official name, leadership and a go-to-market plan.

Ode helps businesses deploy AI systems rather than build their own models — a bet that implementation, not foundation models, is where the next large enterprise-software company gets built. It targets mid-sized, private-equity-owned firms across healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, retail and software.

The venture is built on Fractional AI, an applied-AI services firm acquired in May, and runs on a “Claude-first” principle without being limited to Anthropic’s own models. It is led by Chief Executive Chris Taylor and Chief Technology Officer Eddie Siegel, both Fractional AI co-founders, and has about 100 engineers.

Additional backers include Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, Apollo Global Management, GIC and Sequoia Capital.

Taylor set an expansive target for the firm. Ode could become “a trillion-dollar company someday if we execute well,” he said.

That figure is an aspiration, not a forecast. Ode enters a crowded market for AI systems-integration work, up against established consulting firms, and at launch it is a roughly 100-person shop with a brand and a funding commitment rather than a record of deployments.
