OpenAI will bring models and Codex to Google Cloud Model Garden
OpenAI plans to bring its frontier models and Codex workflows to Google Cloud Model Garden and Marketplace, giving enterprises another purchasing route.
OpenAI said it is partnering with Google Cloud to make its frontier models and Codex agentic workflows available through Google Cloud’s Model Garden. General availability is planned in the coming weeks, according to OpenAI. The arrangement would give enterprise customers a new way to buy and use OpenAI models through Google Cloud.
OpenAI said customers will be able to purchase the models in Model Garden, with Google Cloud Marketplace handling the transactions. Enterprises with Google Cloud spending commitments will be able to draw down those commitments for eligible purchases, according to OpenAI.
OpenAI said the integration will combine native model access with Google Cloud’s access controls, centralized data governance and infrastructure. Those governance and workflow effects are company claims; OpenAI’s announcement did not include independent measurements of performance, cost or security.
More Google product integrations are also planned. OpenAI said its models would soon be available in Google Antigravity and the Gemini enterprise agent.
“This partnership is an important step in making our most capable models and Codex available where customers are already building,” OpenAI President and co-founder Greg Brockman said in the company’s announcement.
OpenAI said Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner. Its announcement did not give an exact general-availability date, pricing, supported regions or production service-level terms.
