OpenAI leads agent-orchestration use among VentureBeat survey respondents
In a self-selected VentureBeat Intelligence survey, 43% of 107 applicable respondents selected OpenAI's agent tools, versus 22% for Anthropic and 21% for Google. The results are not market share.
In a self-selected September 2026 survey from VentureBeat Intelligence, respondents named OpenAI’s agent-building tools more often than any other listed orchestration platform. Forty-six of 107 applicable respondents, or 43%, selected OpenAI’s Agents SDK or Responses API.
Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK or Managed Agents was selected by 24 respondents, or 22%. Google Enterprise Agent Platform was selected by 23, or 21%, according to the survey’s platform-use results. The comparison applies to this sample; it does not establish vendor market share across enterprises.
Respondents could name several platforms, so the percentages overlap rather than represent mutually exclusive shares. Most applicable respondents reported one platform: 78 of 107, or 73%. Another 21 respondents, or 20%, named two platforms, and eight, or 7%, named three or more.
VentureBeat Intelligence received 144 responses and retained 109 qualified respondents. To qualify, respondents had to work at an organization with at least 100 employees or consult for such an organization as their main client, with direct access to its AI systems. The platform comparison covers 107 respondents whose organizations used at least one listed orchestration platform.
Participants came from VentureBeat’s readership and a research panel. Because participation was voluntary, the publisher cautioned that the results may not apply to all enterprises. The qualified group included 67 in-house respondents and 42 consultants, who answered about the client where they spent the most time on AI work.
The sample also leaned toward smaller organizations within the eligibility range: 41 of 109 respondents represented organizations or clients with 100 to 250 employees, while 14 represented those with more than 10,000 employees. DataPhoenix has separately covered an OpenAI enterprise deployment at Oracle, an individual case that provides context rather than validation for the survey’s broader comparison.
When asked to identify one primary platform, 27 respondents, or 25%, chose OpenAI; 19, or 18%, chose Google; and 17, or 16%, chose Anthropic.
