Rabbit launches OS3, a cross-platform AI agent beyond the R1

Rabbit has launched OS3, a cloud-based personal AI agent that connects to and operates on users’ computers and devices. The product does not require the company’s R1 handheld, and users supply their own model subscriptions or API keys.

Rabbit says OS3 works with Windows, macOS and Linux machines, cloud virtual machines, dedicated AI machines and the R1, with more device types planned. Installation takes a single command on up to five machines. Users must also create a Rabbit account at os3.rabbit.tech.

“We’ve spent two and a half years building toward a system you don’t operate, but instead just tell it the outcome,” Rabbit CEO Jesse Lyu said.

Under the bring-your-own-key approach, users connect subscriptions or keys from providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI, or run local models. Aggregators such as OpenRouter can also be used. Rabbit says users can switch models without losing context, memory or skills.

The company lists chat and voice interaction, 24/7 background operation with notifications when tasks finish, and mobile access through a paired Telegram bot or the web among OS3’s features. Users can also import skills from other agents.

Rabbit says OS3 has guardrails and acts only on user instructions. According to the company, sensitive actions require the user’s consent and confirmation, system permissions are requested locally, and users can revoke permissions at any time. These safeguards are Rabbit’s claims and have not been independently tested.
