Samsung SDS to roll out Anthropic's Claude to about 70,000 employees

Samsung SDS, the IT-services arm of South Korea’s Samsung group, has reportedly agreed to deploy Anthropic’s Claude Enterprise AI assistant to about 70,000 employees across 20 Samsung affiliates. The strategic partnership was reportedly signed on July 24, 2026 at an AI summit in San Francisco.

Samsung SDS President Lee Jun-hee and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei signed the agreement, according to accounts of the event, with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong in attendance. Samsung SDS disclosed the deal on July 25.

Employees have already exchanged more than 1 million messages with Claude, and roughly half of the users are working with Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding assistant, according to the partners. The two sides said they would jointly pursue Korean-market opportunities, applied-AI engineer training and proof-of-concept projects.

The deal reportedly completes Samsung SDS’s alliance framework, adding Anthropic alongside earlier partnerships with OpenAI and Google Cloud – a multi-vendor approach that hedges against dependence on any single model provider.

The arrangement has not been confirmed on the record through a first-party channel by either company, and the usage figures come from the partners. Whether the 70,000-seat rollout lands in full, or narrows to pilots inside a few affiliates, will show how deep the commitment runs.
