xAI brings Grok, Cursor and X Premium into one subscription
xAI launched The X Subscription, bringing Grok, Cursor and X Premium under one plan with shared weekly usage for first-party models.
On October 12, xAI launched The X Subscription, bringing Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium together in one recurring plan. New customers could sign up that day, and xAI said access and the option for existing subscribers to switch would expand globally over the following days.
The bundle puts xAI’s consumer chatbot, Grok Bot, coding tools and social-platform benefits under one subscription. Paid subscribers also receive a weekly usage pool shared across eligible first-party Grok activity in Grok and Cursor. xAI says Team and Enterprise customers can manage access across the products through a consolidated offering.
xAI lists five monthly tiers before applicable taxes: Free at $0, Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. Premium, Super and Ultra include weekly usage pools that the company describes as four, 15 and 50 times the Plus base, respectively. The public pages do not disclose the base pool as an absolute number of tokens, requests or dollars.
According to xAI, the $30 Premium tier includes the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which the company says previously cost $90 per month in total. xAI also claims the new tiers deliver more usage per dollar than the plans they replace and at least twice the Grok-model coding usage of comparable Cursor plans. It says Team tiers provide three times as much coding usage as older Cursor Teams plans. Those value and usage comparisons were not independently audited in the available sources.
Third-party models remain available in Cursor for Premium subscribers and above, but their use is not included in the shared pool. xAI says that activity is billed separately at API list prices through prepaid top-ups.
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current subscriptions, prices and features or switch when the option appears in their billing settings, according to xAI’s plan overview. The company has not set a timetable for any eventual migration of customers who remain on legacy plans and says it would provide advance notice before such a change.
For eligible accounts billed directly, switching can place selected Grok and Cursor accounts under one subscription and bill, extend X Premium benefits to a connected personal X account, cancel the selected old subscriptions and generate prorated refunds for unused time. Subscriptions purchased through app stores or other platforms may be handled differently.
Every paid tier includes X Premium benefits for the connected personal X account. Existing X Premium subscriptions remain unchanged unless the customer chooses to switch. xAI says Team plans offer Premium, Super and Ultra at the same listed per-seat prices as individual plans, while Enterprise customers can administer Grok and Cursor from one dashboard with a shared usage pool.
