Amazon is making shopping decisions easier with AI-powered Shopping Guides
Amazon recently launched AI Shopping Guides, a generative AI-powered feature to streamline product research by providing consolidated information and tailored recommendations for over 100 product types on its U.S. app and mobile website.
Amazon recently announced the introduction of a new AI-powered service that aims to simplify its customers' shopping experience: AI-powered Shopping Guides. This tool is now live in the Amazon US mobile app and website, providing guidance for over 100 diverse product types, including TVs and headphones, running shoes, face moisturizers, and even dog food. The company plans to eventually increase the selection of products covered by the Shopping Guides.
Built by leveraging LLMs on Amazon Bedrock, the new Shopping Guides enable customers to swiftly and easily find products that fit their needs and preferences by consolidating key information and relevant product selections in one place. The information provided by the Shopping Guides combines educational content with customer insights to facilitate informed purchase decisions, and the displayed item selection is based on customers' personalized shopping needs. Additionally, Amazon's AI-powered assistant Rufus, can fill in any gaps not covered by a product guide.
Customers will see Shopping Guides as part of applicable search autocomplete suggestions. Clicking on one of these guides will display the relevant information and narrow the product selection down. The AI-powered Shopping Guides are also accessible from the “Keep Shopping For” card, where guides for products relevant to customers' recent shopping activities will appear. Finally, customers can always explore relevant Shopping Guides at Amazon.com/AIShoppingGuides.
