Cloudera acquired Verta to accelerate Enterprise AI
Cloudera, an industry-leading data company for enterprise AI, has acquired Verta's Operational AI Platform, bolstering its AI and ML capabilities with Verta's team, technology, and end-to-end AI platform to solidify its position as a leader in Enterprise AI amidst growing competition and demand.
Cloudera has acquired Verta's Operational AI Platform as part of its strategy to help drive its AI roadmap. Cloudera, an industry-leading data company for enterprise AI, will incorporate the Verta team into its machine learning group, which reports to CPO Dipto Chakravarty. The Verta team brings additional AI and ML talents and technology to Cloudera, allowing the company to effectively anticipate and address the needs of its growing customer base. Moreover, Verta’s hybrid and multi-cloud end-to-end AI platform will expand Cloudera's AI-serving capabilities, enabling the company to meet growing demand from its global user base.
Verta's technology, founded on Dr. Manasi Vartak's research while at MIT, and developed further by former Verta CTO Dr. Conrado Miranda, enables any developer to turn datasets into custom retrieval-augmented generation applications, regardless of their machine learning expertise level. This technology, together with Verta's genAI workbench, model catalog, and AI governance tools, is an ideal match for Cloudera's true hybrid open data lakehouse, the latter serving as a foundation for building and deploying AI applications like chatbots, document summarization, and code generation. Thus, the strategic acquisition of the Verta platform is set to solidify Cloudera's position as a leader in Enterprise AI in the context of ever-growing competition and quickly growing demand.
