CodeRabbit has secured $16M to accelerate AI-powered code reviews
CodeRabbit, an AI-powered code review tool, has raised $16 million in Series A funding to expand its team and enhance its product offerings, building on its initial success in addressing manual code review challenges and gaining traction among developers.
CodeRabbit recently announced it raised a $16 million Series A funding round led by CRV, and supported by additional investors including Tod Sacerdoti (Flex Capital) and Ashmeet Sidana (Engineering Capital). General Partner at CRV Reid Christian will join CodeRabbit's board as part of the negotiations.
Built to address the time-consuming, error-prone, and expensive nature of manual code reviews while avoiding the downfalls of rule-based analysis tools and linters, CodeRabbit has gained some traction among developers, as shown by some of the stats reported in the official Series A announcement, like the fact the company brought in more than $1 million in annual recurring revenue in less than a year. By focusing on delivering an easily discoverable and usable intuitive product experience that features integrations with platforms such as GitHub and GitLab, reasonable pricing, and a generous free tier for public repository use that has earned CodeRabbit a strong presence in the open-source community, the company continues to grow steadily.
Now, the raised funds will enable CodeRabbit expand its team across engineering, product, and go-to-market functions. The company will also continue developing its product offerings with a focus on delivering AI automation functions for dependency management, code refactoring, unit test generation and documentation generation and building up its security vulnerability analysis capabilities.
