Gendo has raised €5.1M in seed funding for its AI-powered design visualization platform
Gendo, an AI-powered platform that turns sketches and text prompts into high-quality visualizations, has raised €5.1M in seed funding four months after launch. The company already serves major architectural firms; over 50,000 images have been generated for 5,000 projects through its platform.
Gendo, an AI-powered platform for architects and designers founded by architectural designer George Proud and software engineer Will Jones, officially launched in July in parallel with announcing an oversubscribed €1 million pre-seed round led by Concept Ventures. Reportedly motivated by the growing demand for the platform, Gendo recently announced it secured €5.1 million in seed funding thanks to a round co-led by PT1 and LEA Partners and supported by the participation of Koro Capital and existing investor Concept Ventures. Additionally, Patrik Schumacher, principal at Zaha Hadid Architects, will join Gendo as an advisor.
Gendo's browser-based platform enables architects and designers to generate high-quality visualizations from sketches and text prompts in minutes with help from generative AI. This vastly accelerates and makes accessible a crucial process in architects' and designers' workflows, as high-quality visualizations are still a key step that informs important decision processes such as bid allocations and moving projects forward to the construction stage.
The company has seen notable growth, as it reports that over 3,500 users globally have generated over 50,000 images for 5,000 projects. Early adopters of the platform include Zaha Hadid Architects, KPF, David Chipperfield Architects, and Benoy. George Proud, CEO & Co-founder of Gendo commented on the company's mission: "We are huge believers in bespoke Generative AI tools that are designed for specific use cases – the reception to Gendo has been a huge validator of that belief." Gendo plans to use the raised funds to develop new AI capabilities and features geared to enterprise clients, such as custom workflows and enterprise licensing models.
