Meta officially launched Meta AI, powered by Llama 3
Meta has recently announced a revamped Meta AI assistant, now powered by Meta Llama 3. The experience will be available across all of Meta's apps and the web. Meta AI also features an image generator that allows users to create, refine, and animate AI-generated images.
Originally introduced last year, Meta AI is now expanding its global availability to bring the renewed AI assistant, now powered by Meta Llama 3, to even more English-language users in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Meta AI is available across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the web at meta.ai (starting April 18). The text-based assistant can search the web, generate images, features Search integration in all of Meta's apps, and Feed integration in Facebook.
Meta AI's powerful image generator is faster than ever, and the beta is currently part of the WhatsApp and web experiences only. The generator will start doing its magic and display images as soon as users start typing. Moreover, the image will be refined with every few letters typed so users can have unprecedented access to the process that led to their final generated image. The revised Meta AI image generator has also unlocked sharper, higher-quality images and improved text-in-picture capabilities. The assistant can also suggest helpful prompts that can further refine a generated image, and users can always ask Meta AI to try out new styles on a generated image, animate it, or even create a shareable GIF based on it. Although the updates apply only to the Meta AI experience on the apps and the web, Meta AI powered by Meta Llama 3 is also available in the US on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and will be coming to the Quest 3 headset.
