Anthropic pledged $150 million over three years to support the US Genesis Mission, bringing Claude tools and technical assistance to federal science projects across more than 15 participating agencies.

Several hundred research projects will receive access to Claude, Claude Code and API credits, the company said. The package also covers training, onboarding and technical support for scientists, plus help for newly participating agencies launching their first projects. Anthropic named NASA, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation among the participating agencies.

The $150 million commitment was announced at a White House Office of Science and Technology Policy summit in Washington. The White House separately listed Anthropic’s contribution among $2.4 billion in AI-for-science tools and compute credits pledged by 11 industry partners to the Genesis Mission Consortium.

Anthropic plans to work with federal agencies and national laboratories on administration research priorities including fusion energy and quantum computing, the company said. The initiative also sits alongside Anthropic’s Claude-supported biology research. Anthropic said the new access could help researchers advance their work, but neither the company nor the government sources documented completed scientific outcomes attributable to the commitment.

The announcements do not specify how the $150 million valuation is divided among products, credits, training and support. Nor do they provide agency-by-agency allocations, a complete recipient-project list or a deployment schedule beyond the three-year term.

The Genesis Mission was established by executive order on Nov. 24, 2025, with the Energy secretary responsible for implementing it within the Department of Energy. The order calls for an integrated AI platform combining federal scientific datasets, models and agents to test hypotheses and automate research workflows.

The White House said in July that the mission had expanded to more than 15 federal agencies. Participating agencies contribute research awards, funding opportunities, datasets and facilities while using the DOE-built American Science and Security Platform for shared data, computing and AI infrastructure.

Anthropic’s commitment builds on a relationship announced in December 2025. The Energy Department listed Anthropic among 24 organizations with Genesis Mission collaboration agreements. Anthropic described its agreement as a multi-year DOE partnership that could support work across all 17 national laboratories.
