UK-based AI infrastructure hyperscaler Nscale announced a $2 billion Series C funding round—the largest in European history—valuing the company at $14.6 billion. The round was led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, with participation from Astra Capital, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Nokia, Nvidia, and Point72.
Founded in 2024, Nscale provides vertically integrated AI infrastructure, from GPU compute and networking to data services and orchestration software. The company is a key partner for OpenAI, Microsoft, and Nvidia, providing infrastructure for OpenAI's Stargate data centers in Norway and the UK.
The funding follows a $1.4 billion loan secured earlier this year for GPU purchases and a $1.1 billion Series B round. Nscale will use the capital to accelerate global AI infrastructure deployments across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Alongside the funding announcement, Nscale appointed three prominent tech leaders to its board: Sheryl Sandberg (former Meta COO and co-founder of Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners), Susan Decker (former Yahoo president), and Nick Clegg (former UK deputy prime minister and ex-Meta president of global affairs, now general partner at Hiro Capital).
