Snowflake deepens its Metaplane partnership with an investment
Metaplane recently announced that Snowflake Ventures would invest in the company, strengthening the strategic partnership between both organizations. Metaplane's partnership with Snowflake has yielded over 100 joint customers, from scaleups like Ramp and ClickUp to established companies like Bose or Sotheby's, across several industries, which has contributed to Metaplane's 6x revenue growth in the past year, together with the company's product-led approach and outstanding customer experience. Data observability will remain essential as Snowflake continues to build developer capabilities on its platform. The investment will boost Metaplane's seamless integration into Snowflake's Data App Development and Data Engineering workloads to empower developers with full visibility of their data infrastructure.
Metaplane integrations with Dynamic Tables, Secure Data Share, Snowpipe, Tasks, and Streams will be announced in Snowflake's Data Cloud Summit 2024. However, these features are already available within the column-level lineage graphs. It is also possible to monitor Event Tables for issues in Snowpark. Metaplane's short-term integration roadmap includes deeper integration to monitor these features, the introduction of incident alerts, and other observability experiences that include Streamlit integrations in Streamlit in Snowflake, Native Apps, and Snowpark Container Services.
Technical details aside, no one can describe the significance of Metaplane's partnership with Snowflake better than Metaplane itself: "If Snowflake is the iPhone of data platforms, Metaplane is the AirPods – seamlessly integrated and best when paired together".
