Synthesia platform upgrade brings full-body avatars, new AI Video Assistant features, and more
Synthesia 2.0 aims to revolutionize business video communications with enhanced AI avatars, an improved AI Video Assistant, a new AI Screen Recorder, advanced translation capabilities, and an interactive video player, all while prioritizing AI safety and responsible development.
Synthesia has revamped its platform to deliver Synthesia 2.0, intending to empower enterprises to go beyond the obvious video applications in a business context, such as ads, keynotes, and video conferencing, supported by a single, powerful, and easy-to-use platform.
Key features of Synthesia 2.0 include:
- Enhanced Personal AI Avatars: Two new types of avatars, including studio-shot Expressive Avatars and improved custom avatars created using webcams or phones.
- New AI Video Assistant features: the AI Video Assistant can take a prompt and some additional information as input to produce the draft of a video. The update will enable the assistant to incorporate brand elements like custom fonts and logos into the templating capability so users can preserve consistency across videos. Additionally, bulk content creation allows users to select a template, point the AI Video Assistant to a knowledge base, documentation center, or repository, and unlock the power of the Assistant to convert articles to high-quality videos in bulk.
- An upcoming AI Screen Recorder: A new tool for turning screen recordings into polished video presentations. When users leverage the AI Screen Recorder, the video is available for editing, the voiceover transcribed and synced to match the capture, and automatic zoom effects highlight key actions. The draft can be edited, trimmed, or enhanced with a custom avatar to deliver a high-quality, personalized video.
- Updated Translations, Advanced Video Player: The Translations feature no longer requires that individual translated files be maintained. If changes are made to the original video, the translations update automatically. The first of many interactive capabilities of Synthesia's new video player is the capability of playing videos in the viewers' language in real-time.
Synthesia has always prioritized AI safety, aiming to become the first AI company to achieve ISO/IEC 42001 certification for responsible AI development and use. With these innovations, Synthesia 2.0 is poised to revolutionize video production and distribution, helping businesses transition to a video-first communication approach. The platform promises to make high-quality video content creation more accessible and efficient for organizations of all sizes.
