Snap, the company behind the popular social media platform Snapchat, held its annual Snap Partner Summit on Tuesday, where it announced its newest generative AI features for creators including Easy Lens, an augmented reality builder that only requires a text-based prompt to create custom Lenses for users, prebuilt AI-powered Lenses, and new capabilities for the My AI assistant.

Lens Studio is Snap's AR authoring tool, which according to the company's report, has been leveraged by over 375,000 users to create over 4 million custom Lenses. Easy Lens aims to streamline the creation of custom lenses even more by leveraging the power of large language models to enable the automatic creation of lenses from a text prompt. Snap expects this move will enable inexperienced creators to bring their ideas to life effortlessly while allowing more advanced users to prototype and experiment before committing to a final idea. Easy Lens is currently in beta and available for a selection of creators only.

Snap also previewed further generative AI features coming to its GenAI Suite. Soon, it will be possible for users to pick out animations from Snap's Animation Library; smoothly combine multiple animation clips using the Animation Blender; create full 3D characters outfits, and costumes from a prompt using Body Morph; automate creating icons to identify Lenses; and more. Separately, the company shared it will continue infusing its prebuilt lenses with AI, starting with an AI Lens that lets users preview what they will look like when they are older.

Snap also announced a feature that will let AI curate Snapchat+ subscribers' Memories and create captions or apply Lenses to offer a new perspective on their Memories. Moreover, AI Snaps will leverage another new feature called My Selfie. Using My Selfie, users can upload their selfies to see themselves in AI-generated images, or in selfies featuring other friends who also opted into the feature. Finally, My AI, Snap's AI-powered assistant can interpret Snaps for users, and help them in tasks like interpreting signs, translating other languages, and identifying plants.
