AI and machine learning announcements at AWS re:Invent 2021
Last week, we got a train of super interesting news and announcements from re:Invent 2021. Traditionally, some of them cover the expansion of AWS's prime AI/ML service — Amazon SageMaker.
To strengthen the service, AWS has released such new features, capacities, and services as:
- SageMaker Canvas — to expand access of business analysts and business people needing data capacity to at-hand ML through a visual point-and-click interface
- SageMaker Training Compiler — to accelerate training by up to 50% through graph- and kernel-level optimizations that use GPUs more efficiently
- Amazon SageMaker Studio updates — to further contribute to a single, web-based visual interface where developers can perform all ML development steps, improving data science team productivity by up to 10x
We'd like to specifically mention a new API to Amazon Textract called Analyze ID that will help to automatically get the information from identification documents, such as driver’s licenses and passports.
We are excited about these announcements (and some other ones — stay tuned!), and can’t wait for re:Invent 2022!
