Canva unveiled Canva AI 2.0, its most significant product evolution since 2013, transforming the platform into a conversational, agentic workspace powered by the Canva Design Model—the first foundation model built specifically to understand design structure and hierarchy.
The update enables users to generate fully layered, editable designs from text prompts, with the AI orchestrating multiple tools automatically. Unlike static image generators, Canva AI 2.0 creates designs from individual, editable objects, allowing users to tweak specific elements without affecting the entire composition.
Six new intelligent workflows extend the platform's capabilities:
- Connectors integrate with Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Zoom, and HubSpot;
- Scheduling automates recurring tasks in the background;
- Web Research gathers and structures information from across the internet;
- Brand Intelligence automatically applies brand guidelines to every design;
- Canva Code 2.0 builds interactive experiences with HTML importing; and
- Sheets AI generates fully structured spreadsheets from prompts.
The AI also features persistent memory, learning user preferences and work patterns over time to deliver increasingly relevant suggestions.
Canva AI 2.0 launches in research preview this week, with general availability rolling out in coming weeks.
