Grand Games secured $3M in pre-seed to grow its AI-powered mobile game development platform

Grand Games, a startup leveraging AI tools to develop part of its games' codebase and art concepts to develop and iterate on its games faster, has raised $3 million in pre-seed funding just four months after its inception. Grand Games' pre-seed funding round was led by Earlybird Digital East Fund, which also invested in mobile games developer Peak Games, with participation from Laton Ventures.

This startup's AI-assisted approach allows Grand to outpace competitors in building, testing, and refining games based on player feedback. However, Grand Games' strategy goes beyond accelerating development; it incorporates luck and social competition features into games to create deeper emotional connections with players. Grand Games aims to secure a leading position in the mobile gaming industry, currently valued at over $100 billion by following and expanding this strategy to beat smaller games publishers.

Grand Games recently soft-launched its first title, Magic Sort!, in the US. The startup plans to soft launch a second title, Car Match, this month. Afterward, Grand Games will focus on its flagship social interaction-focused game, which is expected to launch in early 2025. While working on its two titles, Grand Games grew its team from four to 13 employees. The investment will allow the startup to continue to grow its team across all areas, including product, marketing, art, and development.
