HelloBetter, a leading provider of evidence-based digital therapeutics for mental health and sexual wellness, recently raised over €6 million in a new funding round led by Mutuelles Impact, with DvH Ventures, MMV, HealthCap, and Expon as participants. This investment includes cash and media-for-equity, and brings the company's total funding to €31 million. This announcement comes about four months after HelloBetter secured €3 million in non-dilutive funding specifically for developing an AI-powered mental wellness solution.

Founded in 2015, HelloBetter has established itself as a pioneer in digital therapeutics for mental health. The Berlin-based company currently offers ten online therapy programs addressing conditions ranging from depression and insomnia to specialized treatments for vaginismus and chronic pain. The company's AI initiatives aim to address growing mental health challenges in an increasingly stressful global environment, providing accessible and affordable support at scale.

HelloBetter's scientific approach is backed by extensive clinical evidence, with 30 randomized controlled trials conducted on its commercial products. Six of HelloBetter's programs are part of Germany's standard healthcare system, as they have been approved by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM). According to the company, that over 120,000 patients have already benefitted from these programs is proof of their effectiveness and accessibility.

A key priority for 2025 is HelloBetter's expansion into the French market, leveraging the strategic relationship with Mutuelles Impact, a €95 million social impact fund managed by XAnge and funded by 65 French mutuelles (or mutuals). Since the government-provided health insurance only covers 70% of the costs in most cases, people subscribe to complimentary health insurance either from a mutuelle, which is a non-profit insurance provider, or from a private for-profit provider.

As a result of the strategic partnership with Mutuelles Impact, members of the mutuelles backing this fund will gain access to HelloBetter's programs and AI products. HelloBetter will also submit its offerings to gain the approval of France's national health authority (Haute Autorité de Santé, or HAS) so users all over the country can be refunded for the cost of the company's solutions. This expansion will mark HelloBetter's first venture outside the DACH region.

"This funding will enable us to do three things: become a household name for mental health in Germany, launch new, innovative products and, with the support of XAnge and its 65 Mutuelles partners, bring our proven digital mental health solutions to the French market," explained Hannes Klöpper, CEO of HelloBetter.
