Huma Therapeutics has announced the completion of its Series D funding round, raising over $80 million since its $130 million Series C, raised in 2021. Huma's Series D included support from existing and new investors including AstraZeneca, Hat Technology Fund 4 by HAT SGR, HV Fund by Hitachi Ventures, and Leaps by Bayer. The Series D investment will bring Huma's total funding to over $300 million. More importantly, the funding round is compounded by the launch of the Huma Cloud Platform, a digital platform compliant with strict global regulations to cut down the time it takes to build and scale digital health products.

Since 2023, Huma's platform has become a disease-agnostic, configurable FDA Class II, EU MDR Class IIb, and Saudi FDA Class C. The Huma Digital Platform does not require coding expertise for its setup and can host AI and ML models. Moreover, Huma has started offering a Software Development Kit (SDK) alongside its platform to accelerate new digital health application development or embed the platform's functionalities into existing solutions. The Huma Cloud Platform already powers projects in more than 3,000 healthcare organizations in over 70 countries. These projects have over 1.8 million active users that have screened and supported +35 million individuals.

Successful applications of the platform include the RPM product, which specializes in respiratory tract disease; partnerships with major pharmaceutical firms; participation in national healthcare projects; and collaborations with tech firms including Google to develop specialized models. The latter will give rise to “10x Nurse”, a functionality aimed at automating and streamlining nurses' workflows, reducing administrative tasks, and managing patients with smaller workforces while keeping a human in the loop.

Huma's plans for the future are to become profitable this year while continuing to deliver the impact it has already started to contribute to the healthcare industry by enhancing care and research initiatives and supporting startups and enterprises to launch their digital products efficiently and affordably.
