Ideogram 2.0 is the latest text-to-image model to boast its superior text rendering capability
Ideogram has launched Ideogram 2.0, a cutting-edge text-to-image AI model with superior capabilities in realistic image generation and typography, alongside new offerings including an iOS app, API access, and a searchable database of over 1 billion community-generated images.
Ideogram recently announced it launched its latest text-to-image foundation model Ideogram 2.0, which, according to the company's blog post, features "industry-leading capabilities in generating realistic images, graphic design, typography, and more." Moreover, as with many model launches, Ideogram boasts that Ideogram 2.0 beats its competition in many quality metrics, including how well the generations adhere to the provided prompt (prompt or image-text alignment), how well the model is liked compared to some of its competitors (overall subjective preference), and the much-touted text rendering capabilities (text, along with human hands and feet have always been considered a bit of a challenge for image generation models).
In addition to these capabilities, Ideogram 2.0 ships with several features that have become standard for image generation systems. First, to provide more control over the generated images, users can pick from a selection of styles, like Realistic, Design, 3D, and Anime. Choosing one of these preset styles significantly influences the look of the outputs: the Realistic style ensures that generated images appear lifelike, while the Design style delivers improved text rendering, making it ideal for high-quality graphics for design products including greeting cards, posters, infographics, and social media posts. In addition to selecting a style, Ideogram 2.0 also supports all aspect ratios, including 3:1 and 1:3. The Color Palette feature gives users an additional layer of control by enabling generated images that conform to a provided palette, ensuring, for instance, brand consistency.
In parallel with the Ideogram 2.0 release, Ideogram also announced an official dedicated iOS app for on-the-go generations, a new API that unlocks affordable image generation services for businesses and developers, Ideogram Search—a searchable repository of over 1 billion publicly viewable user-generated images, and improvements to the Describe and Magic Prompt functionalities.
