Meta AI roll-out will bring the assistant to 21 new markets including Brazil and the UK

It is no secret that every startup and company offering AI-powered assistants aims to see their product become the most used globally. Meta is no exception, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been often quoted stating that Meta AI, the company's AI-powered assistant accessible on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp, is poised to become the most used AI assistant in the world by this year's end.

In a move undoubtedly aimed towards reaching this goal, Meta recently shared its plans to launch its Meta AI assistant in 21 new locales, starting with Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, Philippines (with the newly added Tagalog support), and the United Kingdom. Starting October 9, users in these regions can access Meta AI on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the web experience at meta.ai.

According to the company's announcement, access in the remaining 15 locales will be enabled shortly. The full roll-out will bring Meta AI to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. To do this, Meta will add Arabic, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese to its assistant and make it available in Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Yemen. Expectedly, Meta AI remains unavailable in the European Union, as Meta continues to grapple with the regions strict regulations.

The update on Meta AI's soon-to-be expanded availability coincided with Meta's decision to launch Meta AI on Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the UK and Australia. Notably, Meta's plans to release all of its AI products in the UK are back on track now that the company recently restarted training its AI models on the social media platforms' public posts of users in the UK.
